Rs. 400 million for projects in Ratnapura

A plan was drawn up to implement 1,430 development projects in the Ratnapura District at a cost of Rs. 400 million in the year 2008, said Malani Premaratne, District Secretary.

She said, 1,268 out of 1,418 development projects implemented in the last year under Gama Neguma, Maga Neguma, Jathika Saviya, parliamentarians', and Provincial Councillors' financial allocations and their proposals have been successfully completed in the last year providing infrastructure facilities to remote rural villages.

Rs. 53 million for 596 projects under decentralised budget, Rs. 50 million for 255 projects under parliamentarians' financial allocation and their proposals and Rs. 274 million for 548 projects under Gama Negumaand Rs. 23 million for 31 projects under Maga Neguma have been approved for this year, she added.
