Charith new manager
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Interim Committee yesterday appointed former
CCC opening batsman Charith Senanayake as the new manager of the Sri
Lanka team for the home test and one day international series against
India which begins at the SSC grounds in Maitland Place today.
Senanayake (45) opened the batting for Sri Lanka in three Test
matches after having made his debut against New Zealand at Wellington in
January, 1991.
He also represented the country in seven one day internationals.
Earlier the SLC appointed former Sri Lanka captain Hashan Tillekeratne
as the manager but his name was not approved by the Minister of Sports
and Public Recreations Gamini Lokuge. |
