Navy attacks Sea Tiger fleet

A Sea Tiger boat was completely destroyed and two other boats damaged and 10 Sea Tigers were killed in a pre-emptive attack launched by the Naval fast attack craft off the seas in Nayaru, said Navy spokesman Commander D. P. K. Dassanayake.

The Navy detected a fleet of sea Tiger boats deployed from Nayaru heading towards Pulmoddai at around 1.30 am.

“The naval troops using Fast Attack Craft attacked the cluster of LTTE boats. One LTTE boat was completely destroyed and 10 sea Tigers on board killed while two other boats damaged in the attack”, Commander Dassanayake said.
