Melfort Green Teas wins accolade in US, Canada
Melfort Green Teas Pvt Ltd gained international quality acclaim when
their entry in the North American Tea competition, won two top awards,
including in the overall category.

Sri Lanka Tea Board in collabaration with the Tea Associations of USA
and Canada had re-launched "Estate Tea of the year Competition" in USA,
which was held recently at Mandalay Bay convention center in Las Vegas.
The aim of the event was to stimulate consumer and media interest in the
concept of specialty tea from Sri Lanka.
There was an overwhelming response from tea manufactures with over
400 entries competing for top honours.
The competition enabled tea manufactures to showcase higher quality
garden mark teas to the North American markets, especially in the
context of growing demand for such teas.
Thus, in the hotly contested event "Melfort Green Teas" entry was
judged as the "overall winner" in the "Green Tea Sector" and also was
selected as the regional winner of the same sector Category.
Meanwhile, "Sanquhar Green Tea" which comes under an associate
company too was selected for the finals at the World Tea Expo in the "Sencha
fannings category".
The certificates for the winners are to be presented by the President
of the Tea Association in USA shortly. Sri Lanka Tea Board in a recent
communication has congratulated the management and staff of the Company
for their double achievement remarking that the participation in the
2008 event has proved Sri Lanka's ability to produce very high quality
specialty teas.
Indeed, this rare acclaim has given the Company global recognition as
an organization with a passion for quality excellence.
