All Island Poultry Association Chairman Dr. D. D. Wanasinghe requests
from government authorities that price of a kilo of chicken be increased
to Rs. 350.
This request has been made since the production cost for one kilo has
increased to Rs. 55. If the government do not take necessary steps to
increase the requested amount the poultry industry will come to a
standstill, Wanasinghe said at a press conference. Nelna Group of
Companies Chief Executive Officer Maithree D. Fonseka Pussalla, Meat
Producers' Private Company Chairman Philip J. Wewita, New Anthony's
Farms Private Company Chairman K. A. Emil Stanley and Bairaha Farms
Private Company Managing Director Yakooth Naleem were also present. |
