Amana Takaful for Malaysian 7s rugby
Amana Takaful Insurance (ATI) represented Sri Lanka at the 2008 Power
Negri Sembilan Royal 7s Rugby Tournament in Malaysia on 12th and 13th
July. The Sri Lankan flag-bearer of the fast-spreading Takaful concept
of insurance had the honour of being the second mercantile company and
the very first insurance provider to represent Sri Lanka at an
international level.

The team left Sri Lanka on the 9th of July with the blessings of the
Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union and the management of Amana Takaful PLC.
The Amana Takaful Insurance rugby team also known as 'Team Takaful'
has had a good year with their recent triumph at the Mercantile Rugby
Tournament hosted by the Zahira College Group of 90. The 10th
Anniversary Tournament, which was hosted in Seremban, Malaysia, this
year too, had 24 clubs and 16 school teams (Under 19) participating.
Chinese Taipeh, Thailand, South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan,
Korea and Malaysia, will be among the countries taking part.
A welcome tournament dinner was held on Saturday for all
team/officials, attended by the NS Rugby Union's Royal Patron, His Royal
Highness Tunku Laxamana Dato' Seri Utama Tuanku Naquiyuddin Ibni Tuanku
Ja'afar. |
