Western Province emerged unbeaten champions in both men's and women's tournaments in the 34th National Sports Festival Basketball Championships worked off in Colombo, recently.

In the men's final Western Province staged a superb second half rally to beat North Western Province by a margin of 79 points to 64 after trailing 51 points to 56 at half time. In the women's final Western Province women's cagers trounced North Western Province by 70 points to 42 after taking a 44 points to 38 lead at the short whistle.
