Three nabbed with forged currency

The Fort Police produced three suspects, two Pakistani nationals and a Sri Lankan, before the Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge Namal Bandara Balalle for possessing forged Indian notes, and remanded till July 18.

The Fort Police submitting a comprehensive report in connection with their investigations told court that a special police team is investigating to ascertain whether any other persons are involved in the forged Indian currency racket.

The Fort Police had recovered forged Indian currency to the value of over Rs. 83 lakhs.
