HSBC join hands with RE - NEW STATION to help SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka

RE - NEW STATION is a part of ABC Trade and Investments (Pvt) Ltd. With the aim of helping the needy, RE-NEW STATION has extended their corporate social responsibility initiative towards the SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka.

RE-NEW STATION as a part of their recycling process collects used ink and toner cartridges from the corporate and government institutions, and has been working with many organisations. Each company is provided with a collection bin to deposit their used ink/toner cartridges.

One of many organisations to support this cause is HSBC. The Bank has rendered its support by collecting all disposable ink and toner cartridges on a frequent basis, transferring them to RE-NEW STATION for recycling.

All these collected cartridges will then be recycled using state-of-the-art technology and sold at a cost with a profit margin and the income will be donated to the SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka towards its activities for the needy children of our country.

“SOS Children’s Villages are located in Piliyandala, Galle, Anuradhapura, Nuwara Eliya, and Monaragala. We build families for children who have lost their biological families or who are unable to live with their biological families. Every child belongs to a family and grows with love, respect and security.

Growing children need to be nurtured and taken care of. We need your support to take care of such children. Individuals and institutions have come forward to support our work.

We really appreciate ABC Trade and Investments (Pvt.) Ltd. coming forward to help us by organising a social welfare Programme as such,” explained Project Director, SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka Earline Barthelot.

Director/CEO of ABC T & I (Pvt) Ltd. Jayaseelan stated “RE-NEW STATION we just don’t refill cartridges, where you would have had bitter experiences both in printers and print quality.

Recycling is a process which uses state-of-the-art equipment across all stages from emptying the cartridges, cleaning the nozzles, pressurized / vacuum filling of ink to print test, thereby allowing for more successful recycling of cartridges”.

Jayaseelan further said “we are recycling all these cartridges using the German/American technology, and once they are recycled the quality is equal to any new cartridge”.

As most of the institutions regularly discard their used computer printer ink cartridges and toner cartridges which are a waste of money and hazardous to the environment, this concept will help them save money while saving the environment.

Through recycling these disposal items in a professional method the customers could easily save up to 80 per cent of their printing cost.
