Tharanga included for warm-up game

Opening batsman Upul Tharanga was given a chance to regain his place in the forthcoming home Test series against India after being named in the 12 member squad for a three day warm up match against the tourists.

The Indian team will arrive today and will open their tour with a three day practice game against a Sri Lanka Board XI at the NCC grounds in Maitland Place.

This will be the tourists' only fixture before the three-Test series begins on July 23. India will also play five one-day internationals after the Test series.

The Board XI squad also includes fast bowler Dilhara Fernando and batsman Chamara Silva, who are expected to figure in the Test series.

The Sri Lanka Board XI squad: Jehan Mubarak (capt), Mahela Udawatte, Upul Tharanga, Chamara Kapugedera, Chamara Silva, Thilina Kandamby, Kaushal Silva, Chanaka Welagedera, Sujeewa Silva, Dammika Prasad, Rangana Herath, Dilhara Fernando.
