UNPers, JVPers joining SLFP in droves

There has been a tendency among a large number of UNPers and JVPers to abandon their parties and join the SLFP in recent times disillusioned with the wrong decision taken by their parties said Agricultural Development and Agrarian Services Minister Maithripala Sirisena.

He said so during a discussion he had with a large number of UNP and JVP members from Dimbulagala and Welikanda in Polonnaruwa district who renounced their party membership and obtained SLFP membership from him during the last three days.

He said the UNPers and JVPers were leaving their parties they loved and honoured for a long time due to the wrong decisions taken by their present leadership.

All those joining the SLFP would be given full political protection and their hopes and aspirations fulfilled by the SLFP leadership he assured.
