Forged Indian notes: three remanded

Two Pakistanis and a Sri Lankan produced before Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge Namal Bandara Balalle for possessing forged Indian notes were remanded till July 18.

Fort Police submitting a comprehensive report in connection with investigations told court that a special police team is investigating to ascertain whether any other persons are involved in the forged Indian currency racket. Fort Police had recovered Indian forged currency to the value of over Rs. 83 lakhs.
