Launch of three books

Three books titled Amara Samara based on the life and times of 100 pioneer characters in the country's recent history authored by Amara Hewamadduma, former administrative officer will be launched at a ceremony at the SLFI, Colombo on July 23 at 3 p.m.

Sri Jayewardenepura University Chancellor Ven. Prof. Bellanwila Wimalaratana Nayaka Thera will preside.

Speaker W.J.M. Lokubandara will be the chief guest and Dr. Tissa Abeysekera will deliver the keynote address.Hewamadduma said among the leading characters included in the three books are Ven. Migettuwatte Gunananda Nayaka Thera, Ven. Hikkaduwe Sri Sumangala Nayaka Thera, Col. Henry Steele Olcott, Anagarika Dharmapala, Sir D.B. Jayatilleke, F.R. Senanayake, D.S. Senanayake, Sri Ponnambalam Ramanathan, Philip Gunawardene, Dr. N.M. Perera, S.A. Wickramasinghe, Cumaratunga Munidasa, W.A. Silva, Martin Wickremasinghe, Piyadasa Sirisena, Wimalaratna Kumaragama and P.B. Alwis Perera.

The books which would be useful for undergraduates, students, teachers and ordinary readers would be available at the gate at a discount on this day.
