Felicitation of top seven Sri Lankan Exporters

The top seven exporters of Sri Lanka during the year 2007 were felicitated at an award- presentation ceremony held recently at the auditorium of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) under the patronage of Prof. G.L. Peiris, Minister of Export Development and International Trade.

The business establishments represented by these seven award winners, whose export items from agricultural and fisheries items to industrial products, were responsible for 16 per cent of the country's total export earnings of US$ 7,740 millions.

Loadstar, Blue Diamond, Brandix Apprels, Omega Line, Smart Shirt, Akbar Bros. and Bodyline were the seven companies that were felicitated at this ceremony.

Secretary, Ministry of Export Development and International Trade S. Ranugge, Director General, EDB Sujatha Weerakoon and other senior officials of the EDB were present.
