PIM tsunami reconstruction work

In the aftermath of the Tsunami, the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) directed all its academic activities at reconstruction and rehabilitation work. 164 MBA students of PIM managed 69 temporary camps, and launched 68 development projects that helped a number of small and medium scale enterprises to be back on their feet.

This unique experience in "action learning" was closely examined and appreciated by a number of local and foreign institutes, including the Harvard Business School in USA.

The rich management learning and research outcomes are included in the latest issue of PIM's quarterly journal, the Sri Lankan Journal of Management, which can be purchased from the institute.
