Lankan invents magnetic powered motor, solution for power crisis

Young inventor Sunimal Perera of Kalutara who received international patent classification for his magnetic powered motor insists that his invention can be used as major solution for the worldwide power crisis.

Further it could be used as alternative power source he told the Daily News Business. According to Perera, this invention has no external or internal combustion and prevents any type of atmosphere pollution and does not produce harm ful substances. "It is also a good solution for sound pollution which is a huge crisis worldwide. This mechanism of the invention is simple and safe.

"The cost of preventive and corrective maintenance is very low," he said. Presently hydro power generating plants, thermal power plants, coal burning plants and nuclear power plants create a lot of environment pollution and nuclear reactors also further enhance pollution.

Perera said Oxygen is an essential factor for external and internal engines of this element and is highly cost consuming specially for space craft and submarines. The new invention does not use any oxygen or any other related gases. So this problem can be overcome.

This new machine life time is higher than what has been designed for power generators presently in the world.

The new machine is powered by a permenent magnet so this system can be considered as a natural powered machine.

He said although the investment is high to manufacture this product, no infrastructure is available in Sri Lanka.

The benefits will be unlimited for the whole world, and he is determined that the Patent rights of this invention should remain in Sri Lanka with the support of Government authorities.
