Dharmaraja, St. Anthony's hockey champs

St. Anthony's Girls' College and Dharmaraja College became champions
at the Kandy Schools girls and boys under-15 hockey championship
organised by Kandy District Schools Hockey Association and played at the
Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy.
In the competition for girls, St. Anthony's Girls College,
Katugastota defeated Seetha Devi Balika Vidyalaya 2-0 in the finals.
Centre forward Samadhi Weeraratne and left extreme Peshani Herath
sounded the hands for the winners.
Pushpadana Girls College clinched the third place defeating Sri
Rahula College, Katugastota 4-0.
Earlier in the semi-finals Seetha Devi BV beat Pushpadana Girls
College 2-0 and St. Anthony's Girls beat Sri Rahula Girls 3-0.
In the boy section, Dharmaraja College scored a hard fought 1-0 win
over Trinity College to lift the championship title. S. Harsha scored
the winning goal for the Rajans.
Menikdiwela MMV beat Kingswood College 1-0 in the fight for third
place.
In the semi-finals Trinity College beat Kingswood College 2-0 and
Dharmaraja College trounced Menikdiwela MMV 4-0.
Both Dharmaraja and St. Anthony's were coached by G.G. Dharmaratne. |
