Dangerous drugs and liquor control programme in Matara

Excise Superintendent’s Office, Matara will conduct dangerous drugs and liquor control programmes in the Matara district.

According to Superintendent of Excise, Matara V. Gamanayake, the proposed programmes are to be held at Divisional Secretariat Division level in the Matara district.

The Divisional Secretariat Division of Malimbada has already been identified under the first phase of the same. Awareness programmes will include workshops and seminars with the participation of those addicted.

Community support will also be enlisted in this respect. Bringing about a drug and liquor free society in the Matara district under the Matata thitha programme of President Mahinda Rajapaksa would be the key objective of all these endeavours Matara Excise Superintendent Gamanayake told the Daily News.
