Mini electricity projects for Southern Province

The Southern Province Development Authority will construct small scale electricity generation projects in the Southern region.

Under the proposed programme Kolonkotuwa Dulielle, Warukandeniya, Hiriyawadola and Homadola in the Galle district, Diyadava and Batapathelle in the Matara district have been earmarked to be developed as small power generation projects in the Southern region.

Nearly 300 rural families in these areas would benefit under these schemes.

The estimated cost of these projects is Rs. 1,365,000. The Southern Province Development Authority will fund the programme.

According to the Authorities the construction will be completed before year end.
