Mahanama stays unbeaten, beat Ananda 26-24
Mahanama College kept their unbeaten record intact while pulling off
an exciting 26 points to 24 points victory over Ananda College in their
Singer inter school under 20 Division One Group B league rugby
tournament match worked off at Longden Place yesterday.
Mahanama collected their points from three goals and one try after
having led 17-10 at half time. The Anandians responded with two goals
and two tries.
Full back Mithun Shamal scored two superb tries while winger Chatura
Shanaka and fly half Sahan Umagaliya scored a try each for the winners.
Mahesh Eranga converted three tries. Centre three quarter Niresh
Chaturanga touched down on two occasions while Ishan Samitha and skipper
Thusitha Fonseka scored a try each for Ananda College. Anuruddha
Mapatuna converted two tries.

Lumbini beat Science 20-10
Meanwhile Lumbini MV defeated Science College Mount Lavinia by 20
points to 10 points in another Singer inter school under 20 Division One
Group B league rugby tournament match played at Longden Place yesterday.
Lumbini MV collected their points from one goal, two tries and one
penalty after having led 17-5 at half time.
Science College responded with two unconverted tries.
Joes take on Thurstan
The table leaders St. Joseph's College will be hoping to register
their sixth successive victory when they take on Thurstan College in
their Singer inter school under 20 Division One Group B league rugby
tournament match at Longden Place today.
