Three police teams probe railway bridge blast

Three special police teams have been deployed to investigate the recent bomb explosion at Nawayalatenna railway bridge, Katugastota and attempts at blasting electrical transformers at several places in the Kandy district, DIG, Central Province, Kingsley Ekanayake said.

Six transformers at Alawatugoda, Panwila, Madawala and Talawakele were blasted recently.

Meanwhile police are interrogating several LTTE suspects taken into custody from Ambakotewatte, Digana. They have been able to elicit information relating to the killing of the STF Training school director, DIG, Upul Seneviratne and bomb blasts at Digampathaha, DIG Ekanayake said.
