The Power and Energy Ministry has provided electricity to over 81 per cent of the population, Power and Energy Ministry source said yesterday.

He said a crash programme is under way to provide electricity to the rest soon. The Ministry launched 7,400 rural electrification schemes last year and 4,200 have already been vested in the people.
