Kingswood outplay Vidyatha 67-0

Kingswood College, Kandy, made mince meet out of Vidyatha College when they trounced them by 67 points (6 goals 5 tries) to nil in their schools Singer Shield rugby tournament match played at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy yesterday. At half time Kingswoodian led 33-0.

They outclassed both in the scrums and line outs, possessions did not come Vidyatha's way as they were pegged down even in loose play. This contributed to their huge defeat.

Kingswood on the other hand made their key players like Gayan Ratnage and Roshan Weeraratne to play in a low key and allowed some of the new comers to run with the ball and score. They even tried them in spot kicking in which five players were tried out.

Try scorers for Kingswood were M. Rizvan (2), Gayan Ratnage (1), Harsha Ranaweera (1), Mohamed Fozly (1), Ragitha Sansoni (1), Prabath Jayalath (1) Rajitha Jayasuriya (1), Asiri Medarigama (1), Imal Danaratne (1), Six of these tries were goalled by Roshan Weerathne (2), Mawan Dharshana (1), Rajitha Abeykoon (1), Chaminda Ratnayake (1), and Kasun Wijsuriya (1), Pradeep Fernando refereed.
