New system to increase passenger processing capacity at BIA

A Closed Circuit Television System (CCTV) presented by the Australian
Government to the Immigration and Emigration Department is expected to
enhance passenger processing capacity at the Bandaranaiake International
Airport (BIA).
According to Assistant Controller for Immigration and Emigration
Parakrama Fernando, the CCTV system built according to the latest
technology, would improve surveillance methods addressing a long felt
need. The CCTV system was handed over to the Chief Controller of
Immigration and Emigration P.B.Abeykoon by Australian High Commissioner,
Kathy Klugman at a ceremony at the BIA recently.
Airport Aviation Ltd. Chairman Chandima Rasaputhre, officers of the
Criminal Investigation Department, Security Intelligence Service,
officials of International Organisation for Migration along with airline
and department staff attended the event. |
