Home Guard wins car in Nokia promo
Palitha Kodituwakku, a home guard from Aralaganwila in the
Anuradhapura District won the Daihatsu Mira in the special consumer
promotion for buyers of Nokia authorised products, held during the
Avurudu season.
The promotion, held from 17th March to 30th April, entitled all
buyers of Nokia authorised products to be entered into a weekly draw to
win prizes of top brand home appliances refrigerators, washing machines,
home theatre systems among others plus the grand prize of a Daihatsu
Mira car at the end of the promotion. Kodituwakku had purchased a Nokia
2310 from an authorised dealer in his area.
Speaking to Daily News Business, Kodituwakku said he is planning to
sell the prize car and will be buying a van and building a house from
the proceeds as he and his family do not own a house of their own.
"Sri Lanka is an important market for Nokia in Asia Pacific region
and this campaign further demonstrates our commitment to Sri Lanka
consumers. This campaign will reinforce the importance of buying
original authorised handsets" said National Sales Manager for Nokia in
Sri Lanka Kent Sitaca.
"The Avurudu promotion was designed to raise the awareness of buying
Nokia authorised products and rewarding consumers and therefore
supporting the Sri Lankan economy from illicit trading activities" said
Kent. He further said that Nokia phones are selling more in Sri Lanka
compared to Nepal and Maldives. |
