IOR-ARC meeting opens in Tehran
The 8th ministerial meeting of Indian Ocean Rim Association of
Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC) was inaugurated in Tehran on Sunday
morning in the presence of Iran's first Vice-President Parviz Davoudi.
A number of foreign ministers, representatives and deputies from 18
Indian Ocean littoral states attended the meeting held at the Institute
for Political and International Studies (IPIS), an affiliate to Iran's
Foreign Ministry in Tehran.
The countries taking part in the 8th Indian Ocean ministerial meeting
include Iran, India, Oman, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Yemen and Singapore.
Representatives from China, Japan, Egypt, France and England have also
participated in the meeting to hold talks with other countries' MPs. In
addition, Indian Ocean Tourism Organization has attended the session.
Parviz Davoudi delivered keynote speech to the meeting. IRNA
