Anti-UPFA vote will bring era of darkness - Transport Minister

Dullas
Alahapperuma

Ganthalawa: The Eastern Province, once gifted to the LTTE by UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe through an accord was given back to rightful owners - the people - by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Transport Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said.

The Minister appealed to Eastern Province residents not to vote against the UPFA. If they vote for another party, the East will again see an era of darkness, Minister Alahapperuma added. The Minister was speaking at the ceremonial opening of the new Railway Station in Ganthalawa. Assuring a military victory in the North as well, the Minister said that the UPFA victory at the forthcoming poll in the East would further strengthen the President's hands.

Trincomalee-Colombo trains will stop at the new railway station, minimising transport difficulties in the Trincomalee area. Minister Alahapperuma assured that a passenger train with adequate facilities will run to Trincomalee shortly for Easterners' convenience.
