Rs. 50 million solvency margin not met:

Board suspends ABC Insurance

The Insurance Board of Sri Lanka has suspended the registration of ABC Insurance Company Limited in respect of General Insurance Business with effect from April. The suspension has been imposed from last Friday for contravening section 26 of the Regulation of Insurance Industry Act, No. 43 of 2000.

Authority to auction estate gem lands

The National Gem and Jewellery Authority has negotiated with heads of plantation companies to auction gem lands in their estates for gemming. Illegal gemming is taking place in several plantation company-owned estates, according to the NGJA.
