Providence gains int'l reputation
The Sri Lankan-based software and web application development
company, Providence is rapidly gaining a global reputation. The
company's most successful project, GPnotebook was recently mentioned in
two leading British publications, and they also participated in CeBIT
2008, world's leading ICT exhibition in Germany.
GPnotebook is among the integrated web application and development
projects undertaken by Providence. It is today an extremely popular
website with both doctors and medical students in the UK. With a massive
user-base ranging from interested members of the public to specialist
physicians, it attracts a staggering number of hits every day. Joint
Managing Director of Providence Vaz Gnanam said this is one of the most
successful applications of its kind.
Providence also left a mark at CeBIT, the world's largest trade fair
showcasing digital IT and telecommunications solutions. This exhibition
which was held in early March in Hanover, Germany attracted around
500,000 visitors from industry, the wholesale/retail sector, skilled
trades, banks, the services sector, government agencies and scientific
institutions.
CeBIT offered an international platform for comparing notes on
current industry trends, networking, and product presentations. Joint
Managing Director, Jeevan Gnanam said they considered it a privilege to
be selected for this event, which brought together all the leading
players in the information and communication technology industry. He
felt that this was an ideal opportunity to showcase their potential.
This event enabled exhibitors to forge promising deals as it has a
reputation for being the most important place for potential buyers from
the key user sectors.
According to Dr. Vaz, their phenomenal success is largely due to
