Lankan among three held for drug trafficking

Three persons, including a Sri Lankan were arrested in Chennai by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on charges of drug trafficking.

Mohammed Mahroof Raja, a Sri Lankan, Jeyabhaskaran, 53 an Indian of Sri Lankan origin and Ramesh, 42 from Kerala, were arrested during a check, when the NCB officials seized the contraband from the car in which they were travelling, an official release said on Monday.

Investigations revealed that Jeyabaskaran has been involved in drug trafficking for a long time. The three were later produced in a Court which remanded them to judicial custody, the release said. PTI
