PIM Alumni launches CSR programme

Alumni of the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) - Sri Jayewardenepura University, launched first of its series of CSR programmes, at the University of Peradeniya titled "Discover the Winner in You".

In collaboration with the Career Guidance Unit of University of Peradeniya, and the able guidance of Director - Career Guidance Unit, Dr. B.M.K. Perera, PIM Alumni attracted over 800 final year undergraduates from all faculties for this ground breaking event.

In line with its vision of transforming PIM Alumni into a community of thought leaders that shape the nations socio economic fabric, this program was designed to enable undergraduates to discover the winners in themselves, to confidently face up to the challenges in the corporate world.

Drawing from its rich pool of resource base from the PIM Alumni, the programme featured eloquent speakers CEO of Eagle Insurance PLC Deepal Sooriyaarachchi, who introduced a set of principles for success, Head - Economic Development at the Government Peace Secretariat Rohantha Athukorale, who used examples from Greek Olympics to elaborate how to brand the winner, Dalas Joshua, Director - Kaizen Plus SKD (Pvt. Ltd) who elaborated on grooming the winner, Ajith Perera, GM - Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC, who gave an insight into corporate philosophy and spoke on how to develop a winning attitude.

The program was concluded by Ananth Salladoray, CEO - Tritel Services (Pvt) Ltd who showed students how to become the ultimate winner by becoming once own boss with an introduction to entrepreneurship.

This programme was sponsored by the Lighting Business Unit of Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC, which markets Osram energy efficient lighting, among a host of other first in class brands in Sri Lanka.

PIM Alumni is planning to introduce this theme to other universities in Sri Lanka, with Ruhuna University being next in line.
