President feels pulse of the people - Azwer

"One who loves the people inaugurates a school building for children, the one who has no love for people starts pasting posters carrying a pappa baldiya (paste bucket)," President Advisor and Media Ombudsman A. H. M. Azwer said while addressing a public meeting after the foundation stone was laid for a Muslim Vidyalaya in Kahawatta.

Minister of Housing and Public Utilities Ferial Ashraff, Mahipala Herath, Chief Minister of Sabaragamuwa Province, Premalal Jayasekera, Minister of Rural Industrial Development, A. H. M. Ismath, President of the Ratnapura SLFP Muslim Federation, Al Haj Zulfikar, Al Haj Sufiyan and several others laid the foundation stone.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa loves the people. Therefore, he works for the people. Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has no love for the people and therefore he disregards the people by applying paste on lovers' faces.

This is the funniest theatrical act of the Leader of the Opposition in this country.

He must be reminded that lovers need only fragrances and red roses but not paste on their faces," Azwer added.

Azwer also paid tribute to Mahipala Herath for constructing 20 double storeyed buildings for several schools in the Sabaragamuwa Province.

This has never happened before. The Muslims in this country are now appreciating the services rendered by President Rajapaska for the Muslims here and abroad.

"During his recent visit to Iran, Spiritual Leader Ayatollah Khameni and President Dr. Ahmedinejad, bestowed great attributes on him for liberating the East, particularly the Muslims of the Mutur ," Azwer said.

"Muslims are patriotic minded. They will never betray the right of the nation to any foreign country. The guide line for Muslims were set by national leaders like Dr. T. B. Jayah. They will never for a moment be a party to divide the country or permit any foreign country to take away our hard won freedom."

"There is a conspiracy hatched by Zionists with the backing of colonial powers to destabilise our country. Muslims will never tolerate such conspiracies," he remarked.
