President Mahinda Rajapaksa opened the country’s longest tunnel at Ramboda on Saturday. Smooth run-up to Batti elections

All measures have been taken to ensure a free and fair Local Government poll in the Batticaloa district with Security Forces’ assistance, Assistant Commissioner of Elections in the Batticaloa District T. Krishnanandhalingam told the Daily News yesterday.

Sri Lanka’s high tech electronics industry has entered a new era with 30 per cent growth. This will create ample opportunities of having linkages with the growing Indian electronics sector, President of the Sri Lanka Electronics Manufacturing and Export Association, Merric Gooneratne said.
