Six Tigers killed

Six LTTE cadres were killed in a fresh confrontation with the Security Forces in Janakapura, Welioya yesterday morning, Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said.

Security Forces successfully repulsed LTTE sporadic attacks and obstructed Tiger infiltration north of Janakapura FDLs yesterday.

"LTTE cadres had been infiltrating north of Janakapura since yesterday morning and Security Forces successfully retaliated the Tiger attempt to breach the FDLs," Brigadier Nanayakkara told the Daily News.

Following the attacks, Security Forces launched a search operation around 2.10 pm and recovered six bodies of LTTE cadres along with five T56 assault rifles, a GPMG gun and two radio sets, he said.
