The Estate Community has received several benefits under the Mahinda
Chintanaya, observed the newly appointed Deputy Justice and Law Reforms
Minister Wadivel Puththra Sigamany.
Following the swearing-in ceremony at Temple Trees yesterday the new
Deputy Minister Sigamany was full of praise for the President and
Mahinda Chintanaya which has been of immense benefit to the estate
community.
He asserted that he joined the Government to consolidate this process
of development.
He pointed out that as a result of the ongoing development process
the livelihoods and the lifestyles of the estate community have improved
much and moved in a new direction.
The children now enjoyed a better education sans a shortage of
teachers as in the past.
He also remarked that he would render his fullest co-operation to
improve the benefits already enjoyed by the estate community such as the
rice subsidy, better sanitation facilities, housing and other common
amenities.
Minister Sigamany added that with all the estate-sector
Parliamentarians and Provincial Councillors rallying round President
Rajapaksa, the community is destined to enjoy a bright future. |
