Payments to war heroes’ parents:
Defence Ministry clarifies
COLOMBO: The Cabinet has approved a proposal to pay 25 per cent of
the basic salary of war heroes to their parents.
The proposal will be effective from December 13, 2007 and it will
apply only in the case of Forces personnel who had made the supreme
sacrifice since then, the Defence Ministry said yesterday.
It will not affect the salaries already being paid to the widows of
Forces personnel who had died before this date. |
