Measure to stop felling trees

Latest product to substitute wood:

Hewas group of companies invested over 50 million on a new product, Hewood-Combi which is similar to wood, which is a mixture of wood,plastic and lasts indefinitely in any climate, harsh, temperate or tropical. It's the first time in Sri Lanka to market such product, Asst. General Manager, Hewas group of companies R. Chitraikumar said.

Hewas Groups Universal Plastics (Pte) Limited has given employment to over 200, and operates without any foreign expatriates, with 100 per cent local work force. He further said that, this product manufactured in its entirety in Sri Lanka, and we employ a recently developed modern technology known and used in North America, Japan and Korea under a process known as Wood-Plastic-Composite or WPC.

Hewood- Combi has many advantages as, availability of range of colours, painting and polishing is needless, no harms by insects, long lasting. Also this product can be used for doors, partitions, gates and fences, cupboards and more.

Hewas group of company is also known as one of the best polythene manufacturing companies. We provide polythene bags from zipper bags to any kind of bags, R. Chitraikumar said. Hewas group of company also exports varieties of polythene bags to United States, Dubai, South America, Europe, Australia and Maldives. The company was incorporated only to serve export customers and indirect exporters in Sri Lanka. The company won the bronze medal for polythene at NCCE award ceremony in 2006, large category service provider. He also said that polythene is good as long as it could be recycled and that Sri Lanka should find such a system.

The future plans of the company is to improve quality and to provide the best service and also to improve in the wood sector.
