Richard Pieris strengthens its position in the construction industry
Richard Pieris and Company Ltd has reinforced its Construction sector
that was incorporated in 2005, with more resources and new business
direction.
The desire to establish Richard Pieris Construction Company was borne
out of the realisation that there was an urgent need for a construction
company which was able to bridge the gap between local construction
needs and preferences and modern, scientific building technologies.

Jayasekera, said Richard Pieris Construction Company was incorporated
with the key objective of transforming the traditional bricks and mortar
business of construction into a vibrant entity that would incorporate
global technologies and modern methods to create a product that is
unique in the local context.
“Today, the company offers complete solutions comprising of master
planning, designing, construction, project management and consultancy,”
he said.
RPCC that has direct access to researched modern technical know-how
and the capacity successfully translates them into specific construction
needs of customers, offers a range of construction services for the
public and private sector organisations under one roof.
In order to complement the ever-growing demands and needs of the
construction industry, RPCC has strengthened its resource base
vigorously. With the recruitment of 100 plus technically skilled staff
along with comprehensively qualified Chartered Engineers and with the
deployment of heavy-duty machinery and equipment such as Boom Trucks,
Pneumatic Tired Rollers, Air Compressors, Sensor Asphalt Pavers,
Bituminous Sprayers, Dump Trucks, Generator, Walker Behind Rollers,
Chipping Hammers, Backhoe Loader, Excavators and many more RPCC is well
set to met the rigorous demands of the construction industry.
As a result of their diverse expertise in construction, so far, RPCC
has constructed a housing scheme in Seenigama, schools and
administration buildings in Punani, Alankulama and Karuwakkerai, a
factory building in Mattegoda and Horana and a large scale modern
shopping complex in Negombo. Currently the company is working on some of
its flagship projects where they are in to infrastructure development in
the highways category in Anuradhapura and Bandarawela.

Maintaining the practicality and innovativeness that is synonymous
with the Richard Pieris culture, RPCC has come up with many project
deliverable models such as the contracting method, partnership approach
and the research based model. Depending on the customer’s requirement
the most appropriate model will be selected.
In addition, RPCC offers a range of services and value added
offerings to best suit customer requirements. Among them are Conceptual
Designing, Master Planning, Design Development, Interior Designing,
Space Planning, Environmental Planning and Contract Document handling.
In addition to their regular construction related activities, RPCC,
as a CSR initiative has come forward to provide industrial training to

RPCC was recently awarded the M3 Grading and Registration for
buildings and M6 Grading and Registration for Highways, Water Supply and
Drainage, Irrigation and Land Drainage by The Institute for Construction
Training and Development (ICTAD) of the Government of Sri Lanka, where
they rate contractors from M1 to M10 grades. |
