National Chamber AGM

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) will hold its 49th Annual General Meeting today commencing at 5.00 pm at Hotel Galadari, (Ballroom) followed by the ceremonial session at 6.00 pm. Minister of Export Development and International Trade Prof. G. L. Peiris will be the chief guest.

The Chamber will also confer Patron membership to the most prominent 7 members of the National Chamber of Commerce at the AGM.

The patron members will be: * Eswaran Brothers Exports (Pvt) Ltd., * Ninehearts (Pte) Ltd., * Mackwoods Ltd, * Associated Motorways Ltd., * Nawaloka Hospitals Ltd., * The Colombo Picture Palace, * The Finance Co Ltd.

CCI seminar

The CCI will host a seminar on Management of Sri Lanka’s ocean resources with special emphasis on creating a dialogue for an effective institutional and policy framework noting that institutional infrastructure for marine development is weak as well.

This full day seminar will be held on February 19, at Galle Face Hotel.

Among the presentations is one by Dr. Hiran Jayawardena, Secretary General of IOMAC on Sri Lanka’s Ocean Territory and its potential while Kumar Chitty, one time Assistant Secretary General and first registrar of the UN International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea will speak on sustainable development of the marine resources of Sri Lanka.
