Hemantha cracks unbeaten 259

Hemantha Botheju with a fine knock of 259 not out helped Moors Sports Club to register a record first innings win over Ragama CC in their 2nd XI cricket match played at De Mazenod College grounds, Kandana recently. Batting first Ragama CC were bundled out for 213 while Moors SC collected a massive 825 for 8.

Bothuju was ably helped by Bathiya Perera 150, Nadeera Nawala 112.

Ragama CC 213 (Sanjaya Dilruksha 31, Suren Perera 23, Saliya Saman 36, Harsha Nilantha 51, Chamikara Mudalige 5 for 40, Charith Keerthisinghe 2 for 26).

Moors SC 825 for 8 (Dhammika Sudarshana 62, Nadeera Nawala 112, Manjula Fernando 40, Bhatiya Perera 150, Hemantha Botheju 259 n.o., Suresh Perera 35, Chamikara Mudalige 25, Madura Lakmal 83, Samith Silva 2 for 84, Terans Levangama 3 for 233).
