Lankans leave for Tri Series today

The Sri Lanka cricket team led by Mahela Jayawardena will leave for Australia today to compete in the Commonwealth Bank Tri Series limited overs tournament which begins on February 3 in Brisbane.

This will be the second leg of Sri Lanka’s tour to Australia having earlier played two Test matches against Australia at Brisbane and Hobart in November last year.

Sri Lanka’s opening match of the series will be against India on February 5 at Brisbane and will take on Australia on February 8 at Sydney.

This will be the first time that Sri Lanka and Australia are meeting in a one day international after their confrontation at the ICC World Cup final in the West Indies in April last year.

The schedule:

Feb. 3: Australia v India at Brisbane

Feb. 5: India v Sri Lanka at Brisbane

Feb. 8: Australia v Sri Lanka at Sydney

Feb.10: Australia v India at Melbourne

Feb. 12: India v Sri Lanka at Canberra

Feb. 15: Australia v Sri Lanka at Perth

Feb. 17: Australia v India at Adelaide

Feb. 19: India v Sri Lanka at Adelaide

Feb. 22: Australia v Sri Lanka at Melbourne

Feb. 24: Australia v India at Sydney

Feb. 26: India v Sri Lanka at Hobart

Feb. 29: Australia v Sri Lanka at Melbourne

Mar. 2: 1st Final at Sydney

Mar. 4: 2nd Final at Brisbane

Mar. 7: 3rd Final at Adelaide cd
