Air Force pounds Prabha’s X-Ray base

Air Force fighter jets successfully pounded the ‘X ray Base’, a
bunker complex frequented by LTTE leader V Prabhakaran in Kalmadukulam,
Iranamadu last morning.
According to Air Force spokesman Wing Commander Andrew Wijesooriya,
Air Force supersonic fighter jets successfully pounded the LTTE leader’s
hideout. “The air strike was carried out yesterday around 11.15 a.m.
following accurate and precise information provided based on ground and
air surveillance”, he added.
He said according to intelligence sources the LTTE leader Prabhakaran
used this location and he was in the bunker at the time of the attack.
“The pilots confirmed that the target was destroyed, caused extensive
damage to the Tiger leader hide out,” he said.
The LTTE’s political wing leader S.P. Thamilselvan was killed in an
SLAF air raid in Kilinochchi on November 2.
He is the senior most LTTE cadre killed by the Security Forces.
According to intelligence sources, the LTTE leader himself was
injured in an attack on another LTTE facility on November 28.
The Voice of Tigers facility was also destroyed by the Air Force on
November 27, before Prabhakaran delivered his annual speech. The SLAf
has also destroyed several LTTE training camps, Sea Tiger bases and
logistics bases in recent weeks.
