700 more recruits to State Management Assistants' Service
Shirley Wijesinghe
The Public Administration and Home Ministry has decided to drop the
minimum district marks level for recruiting 700 more to the Grade 111 of
State Management Assistants Service.
The above decision was taken by the Ministry due to non-assuming of
duties by candidates who were selected on highest marks basis.
The examination in respect to the above was conducted by the
Department of Examinations on January 06, 2007 and more than 110,000
candidates sat the written examination. Department of Examinations has
released the results of written examination on August 16, 2007 on
district basis.
The Ministry has called interviews for 2,136 highest marks achievers
on District Population ratio basis on October 6,7,8, and 9. But only
1650 candidates participated for the interview.
According to the sources the Ministry appointed 1,550 Management
Assistants, Grade 111, from the successful candidates with effect from
December 10, 2007. But only 1,300 appointees assumed duties.
Therefore, Ministry has decided to fill remaining 700 vacancies by
dropping the minimum district marks.
Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry will hold fresh
interviews for 948 highest marks achievers on amended minimum district
marks on February 7, 8, 9 and 15.
