Chery ranks first in vehicle exports

Contest: The QQ3 is the compact car that enjoys highest refitting rate. Big scale refitting contests were once held by auto fans from all over China, and now such activities are very common. Generally, the refit of the QQ3 can be classified into three groups according to the style, the Fashion Group, the Cartoon Group and the Sport Group. The refit style of the Cartoon Group is adored and pursued by female car owners. Pictured here is a car displayed under the Cartoon Segment at the contests.

Chery has cumulatively exported 114,718 units of cars last year, achieving an increased rate of 164.7 per cent over the same period of 2006 and ranks first for 5 consecutive years in car exports among the Chinese passenger vehicle manufacturers.

With the birth of its 1,000,000th car, Chery has entered the phase of ‘creating a world famous brand through innovation’.

Chery and the South African Company McCarthy recently entered into a distribution agreement in China. Chairman and Managing Director of Chery, Yiu Tongyao and CEO of McCarthy, Jolyon Nash, signed the agreement.

This is another milestone of Chery in the South African market since November 2007 when Chery super bullet proof vehicles were exported to this country.

According to the agreement McCarthy is responsible for the sales, after sales services and brand promotion of Chery in South Africa. Chery cars will be launched in South Africa in April 2008, and the estimated sales volume by the end of 2008 in this market will exceed 5,000 units.
