MAS Kandurata XI by 43 runs
The unbeaten MAS Kandurata Eleven powered their way into the final
with a convincing 43 run victory over Hirdramani Ruhuna Eleven on the
Duckworth and Lewis scoring method in their SLT ‘Five Elevens’
Inter-Provincial Limited Overs Cricket Tournament match worked off under
lights at the R. Premadasa Stadium on Tuesday.
Two superb half centuries from Thilan Samaraweera (71) and Chamara
Kapugedera (63) helped MAS Kandurata Eleven pile up an imposing 284 for
8 from their 50 overs.
Samaraweera struck seven boundaries during his solid innings while
Kapugedera hoisted two sixes and three boundaries with the pair putting
on 80 runs for the third wicket.
Hirdramani Ruhuna Eleven in reply were dismissed for 238 runs with
Man-of-the-Match Thilina Thushara Mirando claiming three wickets for 29
following his useful contribution of 36.
