Government to go ahead with implementation of political solution:

The final draft for a political solution agreed upon by the All Party Representative Committee (APRC) is due to be handed over to President Mahinda Rajapaksa on January 23.

LTTE Eastern leader Shanker was shot dead by the Special Task Force in Shaukade, Batticaloa last afternoon. Weapons were recovered from his possession, Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said.
