Speaker condoles

Speaker W. J. M. Lokubandara yesterday expressed his condolence on the sudden demise of the Nation Building Minister D. M. Dassanayake. The Speaker told Parliament, the demise of Minister Dassanayake is an irreparable loss to the country.

He said Parliament expresses its deepest sympathies to the family of Minister Dassanayake on his sudden demise. The condolence motion on Minister Dassanayake will be moved and debated in Parliament shortly.

The Minister was killed by an LTTE claymore mine blast at Rukmani Devi junction, Ja-ela on Tuesday.
