Japan helps flood victims
The Japanese Government will donate emergency relief items worth
Japanese Yen 14.3 million (Rs. 13.6 million) to the Sri Lankan
Government for immediate distribution among the flood affected in the
Ampara, Badulla, Batticaloa, Jaffna, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi,
Polonnaruwa, Ratnapura, Anuradhapura, Kurunegala and Matale Districts,
the Japanese Embassy said in a press release.
This emergency relief assistance includes 20 tents, 20 plastic
sheets, 150 sleeping pads, 600 portable jerry cans, 10 water
purification systems, 10 water tanks. These items will be distributed by
the Japan International Cooperation Agency. |
