New acting Chairman for PABC
A.G. Weerasinghe who has been a Director of Pan Asia Banking
Corporation PLC since June 15, 2005, has been appointed as Acting
Chairman of the Bank with effect from December 04.

Weerasinghe has a wealth of experience in Commercial Banking,
Treasury Management and Off-shore Banking.
Weerasinghe commenced his working life as an Assistant Lecturer in
Economics at the University of Ceylon - Peradeniya.
In 1967, he joined the Bank of Ceylon, a Sub Accountant and counts 30
years of service in Domestic, International and Treasury Operation and
became Deputy General Manager / Corporate Banking.
He was also president of the Sri Lanka Forex Association.
He is a fellow of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka. Presently he
is a Director of George Stuart Financial Services Ltd, South Asia
Financial Investment & Excell (Pvt.) Ltd. He has also been a Director of
a number of other companies.
Weerasinghe will give top priority to motivate the employees to work
independently and achieve the vision of the Bank to become the most
customer preferred Commercial Bank in Sri Lanka. |
