Roland Perera venue manager

Former Kandy CC, Kandy Youths and Moon Sports Club cricketer Roland Perera has been appointed as venue manager for the first cricket list match between Sri Lankan and England which is due to commence at the Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy on Saturday.

Roland Perera is a product of St. Sylvesters College, Kandy where he excelled as a brilliant bat and a good spinner with some excellent performance which earned him a place in the Central Zone side in the now defunct inter-Zonal Cricket matches.

He also had a stint in the Middle East working and playing cricket. But he is best remembered as the coach of St. Sylvester’s College for nearly 12 years and during this period they won the all island schools Coca Cola ‘A’ Division Tournament in 1994. For 12 years under his guidance they lost just one matche.

Roland Perera is a Regional Selector and is currently the Honorary Secretary of Kandy District Cricket Association Earlier he held the post of Honorary Treasurer.
